Stick Pick is a classroom tool for teachers. This policy explains what it stores, where, and for how long. It is deliberately specific — if something isn't listed here, the app doesn't collect it.
Stick Pick works without an account. If you never sign in, everything you enter stays on your device and none of the sections below apply. Signing in is only needed for Backup & Sync.
What is stored on your deviceYour classes, students, assessment records, small groups, and notes are saved on the device itself. This happens whether or not you have an account, and works offline.What is stored on our servers
Only if you sign in to Backup & Sync:
Your account — Your email address and the date the account was created.
Your sign-in sessions — a session token, plus the IP address and browser/app identifier of the device that signed in. These let you stay signed in and let us end a session.
Your classroom data — a copy of the classes, students, assessment records, small groups, and notes described above, so they can be restored to a new device and kept in step across your devices.
Your subscription status — whether Stick Pick Sync is active, when the paid period ends, which store it was bought from, and which plan. Sent to us by Apple through RevenueCat.
We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and Resend to deliver sign-in emails. These companies process this information only to provide those services to us, and are not permitted to use it for anything else.
Security: Data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted HTTPS connections, and sign-in tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain.
Student namesStick Pick stores the student names you type in. It asks for nothing else about a student — no date of birth, no contact details, no photographs, no identifiers issued by your school. If you turn on Backup & Sync, those names are copied to our servers as part of your classroom data.Many teachers use initials, first names only, or nicknames. Stick Pick works exactly the same either way, and if your school or district has a rule about this, following it costs you nothing here.We do not sell this data, share it with advertisers, use it to build profiles, or use it to train machine-learning models.Student names are entered by the teacher, who decides what goes in. Stick Pick shows them only to that teacher's account and uses them for nothing else. Deleting a student or a class removes them from our server the next time the app syncs.Feedback you send usIf you use the in-app feedback prompt, we store what you wrote, whether it was positive or negative, your platform and app version, and your account ID if you were signed in. Feedback may also be emailed to our support address through Resend, our email provider. Feedback can be sent while signed out.PaymentsSubscriptions are bought through Apple, not through us. We never see or store your card details. Apple tells RevenueCat, our subscription provider, that a subscription started, renewed, or ended, and RevenueCat tells our server — which records only the status fields listed above.Deleting your dataSettings → Backup & sync → Delete account permanently removes your account, your sign-in sessions, and the copy of your classroom data on our servers. This cannot be undone.Deleting your account does not erase the classes and students on your device — that copy is yours and stays where it is. You can remove it by deleting the app.You can also email [email protected] and ask us to delete your data, or to send you a copy of it.Any feedback you sent is unlinked from your account at the same time, so the note remains but is no longer connected to you.How long we keep thingsYour account and classroom data are kept until you delete them. Sign-in sessions expire on their own. Sign-in codes sent by email expire within minutes. Feedback is kept so we can act on it, and is not tied to your account unless you were signed in when you sent it.ChildrenStick Pick is for teachers. It is not directed at children and children are not asked to use it or to create accounts. The only information about students in the app is the names a teacher chooses to type in.ChangesIf this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, say so in the app.If this policy changes we will update this page and the effective date above.
